National Youth Leader Training Session #1
National Youth Leader Training Session #1
Court of Honor 7:30 PM @ Methodist Church
Troop 490,

In Scouting, we vow to help other people at all times. Now, in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic,
our Scouting community must do its part to slow the spread of the virus, which will save lives and
avoid overwhelming our local healthcare infrastructure.

The safety of Scouts, volunteers, their families and our communities is our top priority.

With safety in mind and based on guidance from national health officials, the Boy Scouts of
America (BSA) is strongly advising that in-person meetings, activities, events and gatherings of 10
or more people be suspended through the end of April 7.

In the interest of being prepared for any outcome, the leadership team of Troop 490 has made a
plan for a possible COVID-19 outbreak in our community. We plan to follow the attendance
guidelines of the Monticello School District. If the school is CLOSED, we will not meet.

We encourage you to follow health practices set forth by the public health department. If you or a
member of your family is sick, please stay home, rest, get well and seek professional medical
attention if needed.

Our goal in scouting is to serve our youth to the best of our ability for their enrichment and growth.
We will keep this in mind as the public health situation unfolds and keep you updated as
adjustments may be made.  Our Troop 490 leadership team encourages our scouts to maximize
their time and tackle merit badges or tasks towards advancement.
